The Modern Stable
We are so excited to launch our original concept for the traditional horse stable
Our studies of Equine architecture, the horse and personal riding experience has led our studio to a US Patent Pending concept which focuses on the re-organization of the interior of the traditional stable. The main intent being to build upon the already established and perfect function of the stable to enhance the permanent environment of the horse. This concept targets a seamless and full integration of humans into the functionality of the stable design. Maintaining individual quarters for each horse i.e. the box stall, specialized social and “outside” equivalent common areas designed for both horse and human within the stable structure.
This organization thwarts the detrimental isolation and confinement to stalls while satisfying the horse’s innate need for daily socialization with other horses and humans. Offering ease to duration when each horse is not turned-out for required exercise serves as a means to augment and encourage a strong social and positive behavioral atmosphere as well as maintain good overall health. In all, let “a horse be a horse, happy and social” within the stable structure.
We have taken this perfect form of architecture just a step further; now we have used the architecture of the stable to focus on what we’ve held sacred for decades and know to be the most important facet of horsemanship. Our ability to bond with a horse through trust and communication and their ability to reciprocate that bond in kind. In other words, interaction, interaction, interaction. As architecture was used to shelter and house, it most certainly can be used to promote interaction.
That is exactly what we’ve achieved with the Modern Stable and are so excited to enhance the already wonderful life stable owners provide for their Equine counterparts.
This concept is an ever evolving study to explore on multiple levels; as it may serve each facet of the Equine community and disciplines:
Private or public stable offering private riding lessons; a riding school
Equestrian sport training facility
Equine-Assisted Therapy - not-for-profit or private organizations
This page is a preview to the dedicated website for the Modern Stable. The site is “under construction” and we will post and link upon its completion - www.themodernstable.com - a branch of Cierno Designs, llc.
